Pregnancy Brain Much?

I think I have pregnancy brain and this past week has just confirmed!

So last week I was chatting to a friend while she was cooking up a storm, she advised me that my top was inside out! Yes inside out! and I had been to the shops without even noticing!  Ok so I just laughed and she said ” well at least people can see you are pregnant!”

This weekend I was getting ready to go down to the beach. I was putting my contact lenses in so I could wear my Sunnies. My one eye felt a bit weird so I decided to take the contact lens out, rinse it and put it back in. I was really battling to get it out, after about 30 minutes of trying I decided go to the optometrist for them to take it out as my eye was blood shot red and getting sore!  Ok so I jumped into the car and went to the Optometrist. He checked my eye and guess what? There was NO contact lens in my eye! NOTHING!!! All I could say to him was “I’m pregnant so anything is possible”. Needless to say he had a good laugh. I have no idea what happened to the contact lens but it definitely was not in my eye! I was literally trying to pull my eye out for 30 minutes.  Pregnancy Brain much?

Can anyone relate??? Let me know what the worst thing you have done since you have been pregnant.

Family day at uShaka!

We planned to go to uShaka last Sunday but the weather forecast prodicted rain. So we decided that we would give the 4-wheeled bikes on the promenade a bash.20180415_111443

If you have not tried these bikes then you are missing out on a good laugh. My Mom and Sister had to lift my Gran, my 3 year old girl and Myself.  They battled to get up the slopes so my Gran and I decided that we will get off at the start of the slopes and walk up, then hop back on at the top.  They even had random people help push them up. It was hilarious!

The little ones absolutely loved it! My son Cody and Niece Kayla were racing along the promenade all the way! 20180415_111436

Gran even gave it a bash! Being 5 months pregnant I felt helpless.

The day turned out to be the most beautiful day with no Rain. We ended up stopping at Wahooz for a cool drink to Cool down.

While we were there, my sister came up with an Awesome idea!

The idea was that we all go to the village walk to buy cheap costumes and go to uShaka on the lazy river (she must of been pooped ). Anyway we some how convinced my Mom and  with a little more convincing my Gran was in too!

That was us gulping down our cool drinks so we could go buy costumes to go to uShaka!

First shop my sister finds a bikini for R80, we managed to get the 3 little ones costumes for  about R50 to R150 each. We were on a roll!

This photo is the funniest, the pressure was on! It was like the AMAZING RACE!

While my Gran was in the change room, my Mom noticed that it was 1pm and told us that she thought that it was kind of ridiculous spending all this money for 3 hours of fun. Only after my Gran came out of the change room with the perfect costume (4 costumes later) we had to break the news!!!! Hahahah!

We all came to our senses and decided to take the little ones to the kiddies area at uShaka rather.

This was such a random day!  Memories like this will always be treasured!

What is the craziest/funniest thing you and your family have done?

Pregnancy Survival 2nd Trimester!

I am 5 months pregnant with my 3rd child, a boy! The due date is the 7th of August which falls on my first borns birthday!!!! My due dates have been extremely accurate with both my pregnancies, so chances are high that Cody will be getting a brother for his birthday!!!

I am continuously  asked if it was planned or was an Oopsie, why do people even ask this question?  Does it matter?  A beautiful bundle of joy is on it’s way whether it was planned or not.

I would like to share a few tips that help me. Let me know if you try any or what works for you, I’d love to hear!

Sleep with a pillow in-between your legs, this really  helps!

Gaviscon for heartburn!!! This is literally a life saver,  I don’t know what I would do without Gaviscon! Also, rather eat smaller meals throughout the day than large meals.

Every night after my shower I rub Bio Oil all over my tummy, breast and thighs. In the mornings I apply E45 Cream.  I truly believe this helps to prevent stretch marks.

I get up early have a cup of coffee and a hot shower and then get some fresh air followed buy drinking plenty water. I found that staying in bed just make’s it worse. This does not always take the headache away but it definitely relieves it.

Use a hair tie for your shorts/jeans. As per below image. I only just find this hack and it saves a lot of money!!! 20180412_110227.jpg

I have heard that pigmentation can appear on your face during pregnancy, especially if you spend a lot of time in the sun. I have recently noticed a few sun spots on my legs. Even though I have always used Sunscreen, I apply Sunscreen on my face more often during pregnancy along with wearing a hat! I use Island Tribe Sunscreen.

It is that time of the year where we have the most PERFECT BEACH DAYS in Durban!

Warner Beach

It is that time of the year where we have the most PERFECT BEACH DAYS in Durban!

Theres something so calming about the sound of the Ocean and Sand in-between your toes!

We are so blessed to live so close to the beach.

These photo’s were taken over Easter in Warner Beach, a little town on the South of Durban.  It was spring tide, and with all the rocks showing it was the perfect opportunity to show the little ones the  sea life.
